Liverpool's recruitment team has identified Maghnes Akliouche of AS Monaco as their top target in the summer window, with the 24-year-old French winger seen as the long-term successor to Mohamed Salah on the right flank.
The Reds are prepared to spend up to €50 million to secure his signature, according to reports, with Tottenham Hotspur also monitoring the situation but yet to make a formal approach.
Akliouche's Breakout Season
Akliouche has been one of Ligue 1's standout performers this season, contributing 6 goals and 7 assists and earning comparisons to a younger, more direct version of players Liverpool have historically coveted. His pace, dribbling in tight spaces, and ability to cut inside onto his stronger foot make him an ideal fit for Arne Slot's system.
Salah's Future
The Egyptian King's future at Anfield remains a subject of intense speculation. Now 33, questions about how many elite seasons remain have led Liverpool's hierarchy to begin planning their post-Salah era proactively rather than reactively. Akliouche, young enough to grow into the role while learning from the best, fits that blueprint perfectly.
Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Mamadou Sangare of Lens, a 23-year-old midfielder who has drawn admiring glances from Merseyside scouts over the course of the season.
Competition for Signatures
Monaco have made clear they will not sell cheaply, and with the player still under contract for several years, they hold strong leverage. Liverpool, however, have the financial clout and the sporting project to be persuasive — and the chance to compete in next season's Champions League remains a powerful selling point.
